Israel Wine Regions  - The Judean Hills

The hills of Judea near Jerusalem were covered with grape vines at least since the days of King David and Solomon thousands of years ago. The ‎cool summer nights and the limestone rich soil produce really fine wine grapes. ‎
Travelling in the steep slopes and narrow valleys is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, especially in HaElla Valley, also known as 'Little Tuscany'.
In places it is above 800m and receive snow in the winter. The soils are thin, limey and stony.
